Reportasejabar.com – Cimahi, The Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani (Unjani) received an academic visit from a delegation representing Politeknik Melaka, Malaysia, on Wednesday (June 17, 2026). This visit marks a strategic step toward strengthening international cooperation in higher education, research, and technological development between the two institutions.
The visit took place at the Unjani Main Campus, located on Jl. Terusan Jenderal Sudirman, Cimahi, West Java. This location serves as the central hub for the university’s science and technology faculties, including the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Dentistry, and the Faculty of Pharmacy.
The Malaysian delegation consisted of eight members, led directly by Dr. Hazlina Marwan, Head of the Department of Mathematics, Science, and Computer at Politeknik Melaka. They received a warm welcome from the leadership of Unjani’s Faculty of Engineering, including the Dean, Heads of Study Programs, and faculty members.
Signing of Memorandum of Agreement and Laboratory Tour
The itinerary included the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA), serving as a follow-up to the previously established cooperation framework. In addition, the Politeknik Melaka delegation took a comprehensive campus tour to review academic support facilities, which included visits to various laboratories within the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Science and Informatics (FSI) at Unjani.
This initiative aligns with the spirit of the MoA signed between Politeknik Melaka and Unjani, which focuses on developing dual-degree programs, student and faculty exchanges, and joint research collaborations. The agreement also emphasizes the importance of compliance with accreditation standards set by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE) and the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of Indonesia (Dikti).

Hopes for Global Synergy and Technology Transfer
One of the key figures present at the event was Kolonel (Purn.) Dr. Ir. Sukanto Hadi, MT., Head of the Geomatics Engineering Study Program at Unjani. He expressed his appreciation for the establishment of this academic interaction.
“This activity will strengthen academic cooperation through the visit of Politeknik Melaka Malaysia to the Faculty of Engineering at Unjani. Moving forward, we hope to build a positive synergy to develop collaborative programs between Unjani and Politeknik Melaka Malaysia,” Sukanto Hadi stated.
He further added that this collaboration is expected to create national and global synergies to reinforce the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (the Three Pillars of Higher Education), which encompass education, research, and community service.
“The hope is that this partnership will produce globally competitive graduates, accelerate technology transfer, and foster research collaboration between the institutions as well as with the industry,” he added.
Unjani Profile and Commitment to Quality
Universitas Jenderal Achmad Yani (Unjani) is a prominent private university in Indonesia, operating under the auspices of the Kartika Ekapaksi Foundation, which belongs to the Indonesian Army (TNI AD). Currently, Unjani houses approximately 10 to 11 faculties with over 40 study programs, spanning Bachelor’s (S1), Professional, and Postgraduate (S2/S3) degrees.
In terms of academic quality, Unjani has achieved an “Excellent” (Unggul) accreditation status from the National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (BAN-PT), with over a dozen of its study programs holding the same distinction. The presence of a robust Faculty of Engineering, equipped with modern laboratory facilities, serves as a primary attraction for international partners like Politeknik Melaka to forge strategic alliances.
